Class of 2015 Commencement
With (let's hope) all snow days behind us, the date for Commencement exercises has been set for Wednesday, June 10. Because the fields project is expected to be well underway, plans are to hold graduation indoors as we did in 2014.
Last year's indoor graduation, thanks primarily to support from faculty, staff, technology, and administration, was well executed and a wonderful experience for the families of our fine graduates.
The revised last day of school for faculty and staff will be Thursday, June 11.
The Meetings in Review
The March 11 meeting was focused on just two items, approval of a fields project change order and an updated recommendation relative to the school consolidation planning.
As noted in Dr. Zerbe's blog, his presentation focused on three updated recommendations on the matter of the possible closing of a school. Central to this was the announcement of the formation of committees, which was followed by committee profiles and online applications. Staff participation on these committees is sought, and the deadline to apply is noon on March 31. Find detailed information and apply online on the district's website here. Dr. Zerbe's March 11 presentation can also be viewed on the website.
Mr. Robert Harney presented an overview of the Health Advocate Employee Assistance and Health and Wellness Program to the Board during the March 24 meeting, detailing the program's benefits, both to the employee and the district. This presentation can be viewed on the district's website.
