FUN NIGHT TONIGHT 5:45 - 7:45pm
Penn Pride: We have. We are. Together.
Together ... learning, acknowledging and celebrating
At Penn we are caring, respectful, responsible and ready.
Establishing expectations is critical to creating a culture of learning. Well-defined expectations provide clarity for students, parents and staff.
We have determined basic behavior expectations for every common area. This means we have defined what it looks and sounds like to be caring, respectful, responsible and ready in every area of the building.
School staff focuses on noticing and acknowledging when students demonstrate appropriate, expected behaviors. We acknowledge positive behaviors by giving students a PAW. A paw is really just a small piece of paper with a paw print on it. Students then put their name on the paw and put it in the paw container in their classroom. Teachers then can draw from the jar for special privileges and sometimes prizes. Of course, parents, you may also find some paws in your laundry. :)
One way we celebrate following expectations is with our Big Burrito Award. Each teacher nominates one student per month who has consistently demonstrated caring, respectful, responsible and ready behaviors for the Big Burrito Award.
We're proud of all these students who were nominated by their teacher.
August Big Burrito nominations:
Evelyn Metz, Andrew Achenbach, Eden Rogers, Savannah Chidister, Jack Gullickson, Chase Hansen, Finley Loes, Farrah Coleman, Omar El Abiad, Cristiano Pratt, Maddy Leibold, Gabbi Swift, Carsten Willer, Ella Nesham, Alex Moore, Jerimiah Washpun, Alison Dill, Sam Lieu, Keagan Rios, Olivia Mosier.
You ALL make us proud!
And the lucky August winner of the burrito gift certificate (donated by Pancheros) was: Ella Nesham!

MILEAGE CLUB
Mileage Club is a great, voluntary opportunity for kids to get moving during recess. We encourage them by punching their mileage club card every time they make a lap. This is why we need volunteers ... to punch the cards and encourage the children. Could you help?
The mileage club is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during lunch recess. Please take a look to see if you can help. Thank you!
