2022-2023 School Year
McClure Families,
As we begin planning for the 2022 - 2023 school year, we will soon begin making class lists, based on an estimate of the enrollment projections. One priority as an administrator is to visit classrooms regularly. We know the instructional skills of every teacher because we have observed them. I could not, in all honesty, tell you that one teacher on the faculty is better than another. Teaching involves hundreds of skills, and no one teacher is best at all of them. McClure is fortunate to have a faculty with multiple strengths and many specializations.
When we assemble classes, we make them heterogeneous. The major factors we consider are: the child’s demonstrated achievement, the type of learner they are, whether the child is receiving additional support, the quality of the student’s citizenship, their work habits, how his/her personality will fit with the others in the class, if his/her leadership potential will have an opportunity to develop in class, and the boy-girl ratio in the class. This is a complicated process and is based upon our best assessment of each child.
If you would like to provide us with the type of classroom environment that you think is best for your child, an information form will be available in the front office from Mrs. Leach. Please know that this form is not a teacher selection form as we do not accept requests for specific teacher placements. Trust is the key ingredient in this process. Please trust us to make the best placement possible.
All forms must be completed and returned by April 29, 2022. You may complete the form from April 11th-April 29th.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Harrison- McClure Principal

WANT TO SUBSTITUTE TEACH?
McKinney ISD substitute teachers serve an essential role in our classrooms. They keep the learning moving forward when a teacher can not be in the classroom. At McClure, we are thankful for all of the substitutes that serve our Marshals.
If you have ever considered serving as a substitute, now is a great time to apply! We are looking for people who are committed to the students and families in our district. Substitutes in MISD can choose if they would like to work at only one level campus (elementary, middle, or high) or they can work at campuses across all levels.
Applications are processed on a continuing basis through the fall semester.
For details on the application process and to get started, please visit:
