On February 26, 2013, Oxfam will launch its new initiative to shine a spotlight on the business practices of the world's 10 largest food and beverage companies. Following this launch, on March 8, we will be taking action with Oxfam to urge big food companies to protect the rights of the people who grow our food.
All of our lives are touched in some way by the world’s biggest food brands, and we deserve to know what happens to the people who grow and produce them. As consumers, together we have the power to find out and make change. So join us!
Campaign Actions on February 26 and March 8
February 26: Campaign Launch
On February 26, Oxfam will launch an initiative aimed at scrutinizing 10 major food and beverage companies. This campaign will drive consumer awareness and action worldwide to reduce social and environmental impacts, encouraging the companies to reform business practices and begin a race to the top.
March 8: Action Campaign
On March 8, International Women’s Day, take a stand with Oxfam toward promoting a future in which everyone has enough to eat!
We will assemble at Pike Place Market in Seattle, for 2 hours in the afternoon into the evening, to raise awareness with signs and handouts. Come to share our information with shoppers and be the first to see our clever new way of putting companies under the spotlight! And bring your camera - by posting our action online, together with Oxfam activists worldwide we will make sure the companies get the message.
