Livonia PTSA Council Courier

News for March, 2018

Big Thank you to the CONNECT program students...

...at the LCTC (Livonia Career Technical Center) for the fundraiser they ran in December. Students brought in donations to be used for new undergarments for the Livonia PTSA Council Clothing Depot, now housed at Franklin High School and run by Franklin Transition Program students. The CONNECT program students raised over $665!!!

Frost PTSA News and Activities...

In looking for ways to give back to our students, Frost Middle school PTSA has 2 scholarships for students who are current PTSA members. The $100 Washington DC Scholarship is awarded to students based on their brief responses to questions such as "What are you most looking forward to visiting and why?" This year, we awarded 20 DC Scholarships.

The other Scholarship we host is the Music Scholarships. Music teachers conduct auditions and then decide the award amount. PTSA provides the certificates and the funds. Music Scholarships are available to any student currently in a band or orchestra class or any student in choir. We award $1000 in scholarships.

Frost PTSA is honored to help support and encourage our student's interests!

National PTA Family Reading Experience

Parents take part in the fun with their kids and leave the event with a deeper understanding of the simple ways they can support literacy. ALEXANDRIA, Va., (Feb. 21, 2018)—National PTA joins students, families, educators, school administrators, community leaders and the nation in grief over the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and all acts of gun violence involving children and youth. This kind of loss is unimaginable, and our country has experienced far too many gun-related tragedies. It is urgent that we work together to find solutions and make meaningful changes to keep our children safe.
