Sunday School

We have two adult Sunday school classes, both of which begin around 9 AM. Class I, which meets in Classroom 6, will begin studying Mark’s Gospel. Please speak with Carole Coleman if you have any questions about this class. Class II, which meets in the Mercer Hall Classroom, will begin studying Colossians and then Philemon. Consider joining one of these classes and seek to “love the Lord you God with… all your mind.” –Matthew 22:37

Wednesday Night Meals

Our weekly Wednesday night covered dish meals are back! This year we are trying to include a brief spiritually/educationally enriching component for our time together. On Wednesday, September 21 Payne Gessner, Daylen Wagner, and Drew Wagner will give a presentation about their Grimes County 4-H Global Service Project. They will be collecting children’s toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss to assist in promoting good dental hygiene practices for Grimes County Pre-Kindergarten students.

Photo Directories

It is once again time to update our church photo directory. Liz Olden will be taking photographs on Sunday mornings. We are also asking everyone to update their contact information.

From the Pastor

I recently subscribed to a RightNow Media, which has been called the “Netflix streaming of Christian Bible study.” It has thousands of teaching sessions, plus Bible-based content for children. The content can be watched via the internet on a computer, tablet, smartphone or internet-connected television. While I bought this primarily for myself, it is a service that pastors are encouraged to share with their congregations. I have not yet had the opportunity to explore all of the resources, but it looks like there is great potential for those people wanting to do some extra study on their own. Let me know if you are interested (click here for my e-mail), and I will give you information on how to get connected.

Church Garage Sale

Our church garage sale will be held on Saturday, October 15. If you have items to donate and need to schedule a drop-off time, please be in touch with the church office or a member of the Discipleship Team. Thanks!
