Dear parents and guardians,
This week is Red Ribbon Week. This is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the United States. Shout out to the counseling department for coming up with themes and activities each day. Please participate in the daily activities.
It has been decided that students in Grades in 11 and 12 will be permitted to leave during their lunch and advisory period 11:27- Beginning, October 25, 2022, if they meet the following requirements: (students must report to advisory and then sign out at Smallwood)
- Students cannot have any late arrivals to school.
- If the student returns late from lunch, the privilege will be rescinded.
- There can be no disciplinary actions against the student.
- Grades must be C and above.
- We have received a signed permission slip from the parent or guardian.
Every week we will feature students discussing WHY they love Woodbury. This week we featured two amazing students. I hope you enjoy the video.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week: October 23rd-31st
The Nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program is being celebrated October 23rd to October 31st. Woodbury Jr. High School is about to turn RED!!! The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest national drug free movement throughout the United States. The Red Ribbon Campaign was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying red ribbons a symbol of intolerance toward the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA.
When the red ribbon is worn by students, teachers and parents, it powerfully symbolizes each individual’s commitment to preventing drug use in schools, workplace and communities. This national celebration allows the whole community to focus on the work being done to stop the spread of drugs and draw attention to the millions of children and young adults who pledge to live drug free. Parents, students and staff please show your support by taking part in our Spirit Week from October 24th-October 28th. Followed by a Halloween Costume Contest on Monday October 31st.
