Why this Career?-

> I chose this career because it seemed interesting and designers are always going to be needed and will always have a job because a computer can't predict what fashion society will wear and can't physically design a layout for clothing/footwear.

Career Description-

>Fashion designers create original clothing, accessories, and footwear.

>They sketch designs, select the fabrics and patterns, and give instructions on how to make the products they designed.

Education?-

>Most have a bachelor's degree in fashion design or fashion merchandising.

>This is needed for this occupation if you are wanting or willing to become as successful as possible in the career field.

Certification/License?-

> To become a Fashion Designer there are no specific certifications or licenses needed just mainly a bachelor's degree is required.

> It wouldn't hurt if you had one though it would probably increases your chances in that career field.

Internship?-

>Internships can provide aspiring fashion designers an opportunity to experience the design process, building their knowledge of textiles, colors, and how the industry works but you are not necessarily required to have one for this certain career field.

Day on the Job-

>Most fashion designers work full time, however there are few that work part-time and that is allowed.

>The most that work long hours meet with the productions deadline of the designs/products for the upcoming fashion shows.

Salary & Demand-

>The yearly wage for fashion designers in May of 2012 was $62,860.

>In 2012 fashion designers held about 22,300 jobs available.
