The Display of Cultures is sponsored by S.H.A.D.E.S. Club and will take place on April 20th. The idea is to have one day where every culture in the school is represented. There will be tables in the main hallways where students and teachers display the artifacts about their cultures: values, traditions, and customs, emphasizing the important differences. At the same time there will be multi-cultural performances in the theater. The goal is to foster students in gaining respect to each other’s differences and celebrate the diversity. The Display of cultures strives:
To eliminate stereotype and prejudice in our school To understand the connection between culture and behavior To ensure success of all students, regardless of their cultural background,. To invite innovations in the classroom To enter the world of multiculturalism
On Thursday, March 8, WHS hosted Latino Family Night in the library. Various community resources and agencies were present, including the Indian Trails Library, OMNI Youth Services, the Link Together Coalition, and the Creekside Health Center, to provide useful information for families. Thanks to all of our families who attended this event!

Career Updates
On March 7th, we took a group of students on a Behavioral Health Career Trek to listen to several professionals affiliated with Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. Students joined other local high schools and overall, the audience asked A LOT of questions which led to great information sharing. Students completed ten-minute rotations in CNA, nursing, paramedic, dietetic technician careers, human services, health information technology, dental hygiene, phlebotomy, cardiac sonography, surgical technology, and radiologic technology.
