News from this week
Dear Parents,
It has been a wonderful first week in 4th grade. We enjoyed several fun activities to get to know each other, have read some wonderful books, and are doing a great job learning our routines and procedures for the year. We have such a wonderful class and I am very excited to be able to teach your children. I know it will be a great year!
The weekly newsletter will be sent via Remind, e-mail and in the Friday folder for the next couple of weeks. After that, I will be sending an electronic copy only. However, if you would prefer to have a paper copy sent home each week instead, please let me know.
If you have not yet signed up for Remind, please make sure to do so. I like to use this service to let parents know about important information about our class, including upcoming tests and the weekly newsletter. You can text the code: @stoffle18 to the number 81010.
As soon as we start the official reading logs I will send a reminder. Reading logs will be due every Monday and should reflect your child's reading for at least 20 minutes each night for 5 nights.
If you have not yet already signed the consent for your child to participate in the HealthMPowers study, please do so as soon as you can. Gwin Oaks has been selected as one of 20 schools to participate in this important study that will measure how physical activity affects academic performance. You need to give your consent on www.mypaymentsplus.com. Select the correct box under Student Events (I think), then click Pay to agree to give consent. There is no fee to participate and all they need is parent permission. If you would like a paper copy, please let me know.
Please look through your child's Friday Folder. The behavior sheet needs to be signed and returned on Monday each week.
I set up an e-mail group based on the information that you have provided. I believe that I have at least 1 e-mail for every child in the class. If you have not received an e-mail from me please let me know, so that I can add you to the e-mail group.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. I look forward to having a fantastic year getting to know you and your child.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Stoffle
