Abrams Elementary School
TOGETHER --We Learn... We Achieve... We Grow
Report cards will be coming home December 6th. Please look at them and contact your child's teacher if you have questions. The report card is 1 way we use to communicate with you how your child is doing when we look at what our learning targets are for this time of the school year.
Holidays can be a great time of the year for many of us while for others we can struggle. Take time to be thankful for all of the good things you have in your life. Also remember that not everyone enjoys the holidays for different reasons. Take some time to bring joy to someone else during this season. Happy Holidays!
Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have about your child or school.

Special thanks to: Jesse Wotruba/Fox Harbor, LPI Fitness, Bryan Baumler, Townline, Rustique, Chives, Meijer, Piggly Wiggly, 4 Seasons Landscaping Solutions, Salon 325/Jessica Thompson, Willow Clothing Company, Parents, Teachers, Staff, and the many families who all pitched in to help.
Notes from the Office
Abrams Family Tree: Abrams Elementary has a tree in the lobby. We would like to have the students help decorate the tree by decorating an ornament. Every family will receive a blank ornament to decorate. Ornaments will be sent home on November 26th. This is not a contest and there are no prizes. We would simply like to have every family represented on our Abrams Family Tree. Be sure that your name is displayed on one side of the ornament. The ornaments can be brought back to school on December 2nd, so that we can display them on the tree in the lobby. The ornaments will be returned to you on December 20th. Thanks for helping out with this family project.
School Dress Up Days:
Nov. 22: Camo/Blaze Orange
Dec 6: Stuffed animal day

The Who Was? History Bee!
We are pleased to announce that our library is sponsoring an exciting reading competition for students in grades 4-5. It is The Who Was? History Bee.
The Who Was? History Bee is a brand new trivia contest being held across the U.S. during the 2019-2020 school year. The winning student earns a $10,000 college scholarship, and their school wins a library of Who Was? books and fun signage celebrating the big Bee win! It is sponsored by Scholastic and author Jeff Kinney. He is the author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.
Classroom level competitions will be held the week of December 9-12 during library class times, and the district level competition will be held during the school day during the week of December 16-20 via video conferencing with times to be determined yet. The winner of that competition will then take a proctored test that consists of multiple choice and short answer questions January 6th-February 14th. Winners will be announced in April, and Monday, May 4th will be the national competition in New York city. The top 10 students nationwide will be flown to New York along with a parent or guardian for the competition. For more information, go to http://www.whowasbookseries.com/history-bee/
If anyone has any of the Who Was? Series books that they would like to donate or lend so that we can get as many students reading as possible, or if you have any questions, please contact our library media specialist, Mrs. Penny Stuiber, at firstname.lastname@example.org
