Hillsborough Christian Academy
A Word from the Head of School
Hello, HCA Families!
The weather has finally changed and we are all thrilled to see winter behind us! I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break! The weather couldn't have been nicer!
April is the month we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Easter reminds us of just how much our Savior loves us and what He was willing to go through on the cross to save us from our sins and bless us with an abundant life on Earth and an eternity with Him in Heaven. Let us never forget this amazing gift from God.
Pastor Nathan would like to invite everyone to join Life Point Church for their Easter Service on Sunday morning, April 20th at 11:00. Following the service, there will be a hot dog lunch and a school/church-wide Easter egg hunt for the children. We ask that you please consider donating plastic eggs filled with candy or toys. We will have a separate area for children two and under, so eggs hidden in this area should be filled with child-safe candy and toys. One of our parents, Rachel McKee, takes amazing pictures and has agreed to photograph the children that day. These pictures will be available for purchase. If you are unable to make it to the service, we would still love for you to join us at 1:00 for the festivities.
Our Playground Workday went well and we managed to begin preparing for the transformation of our our play area into an outdoor learning environment. Our next workday will be Saturday, April 26th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Please consider joining us and helping us with our renovation.
I hope everyone has a great week!
What is going on this month?
Greetings, Infant Families!
It’s hard to believe that April is here already. Where has the time gone?
It’s been such a fun winter getting to see all the new skills each child has developed. Now with the weather warming up and hopefully staying nice, we will try to go outside more. Please dress your child accordingly to the weather.
We would like to welcome Logan and the twins Matthew and Johan, to the sprouts room; and say good-by to our oldest infants, Marina, and Gabby, who have out-grown the sprouts class. We have enjoyed watching them grow up! We wish them all the best in the seedling class.
We will still be working on our self-help skills, and singing, reading with puppets. Please make sure you bring in a picture of your child's family for our class room.
Just a reminder; make sure you label everything of your child’s.
Thanks, Ms. Wanda
**Shoe free room**
With infants commonly on the floor, we want to provide a clean, safe and healthy
environment in the Infant room.
We practice a shoe free policy in this room. We ask that all adults, and mobile children entering the room please remove shoes. We take this action to prevent outside contaminants from being brought into the room and spread onto the carpet; particularly during the cold weather with the snow and salt. The Infants spend much of their time exploring on the floor, so it is best that these areas be kept clean as possible.

Hello Toddler Families!!
We have reached the end of another fun filled month of learning, growing & new developments!! Spring time is finally here and hopefully the great weather is also near, our toddlers enjoy their outside time with their friends!!
In April, we will be enjoying Easter activities such as dyeing eggs, hunting eggs, talking about JESUS and reading stories about Easter. We will also have an Easter party this month around the holiday. I will post the list in advanced so you can participate.
We have some other important dates in April as well, we will be learning about Earth & Arbor day along with Easter. We will talk about the importance of keeping the environment clean and how the trees provide us with shelter.
Also, we would like to welcome back two children from the Sprouts room, Gabby and Marina. We would also like to welcome our newest addition, William!! They will be joining us after Spring Break! We have three of our Seedlings, Bekah, Connor, and Tessa, moving on to the Branches room. They will be missed.
I look forward to working with everyone!
Please dress your child according to the weather.
Bring extra clothes to keep in cubbies because they get messy sometimes inside and outside.
Please bring 3 EMPTY sippy cups (2 are for milk to 1 for water.) We provide milk & water. Be sure to LABEL and DATE all cups.
It may be helpful to also label coats and any other belongings if you would like.
I want to thank all families for sharing your kids with me! It is such a joy to see those smiling faces in the morning and hear their laughter while they play!! I hope you enjoyed your SPRING BREAK! May God Bless you all!!
Love, Mrs. Tonya

Hop, skip, jump! Hop, skip, jump! These are some of the most favored words and actions of our friends in the Branches class! We enjoyed tons of action during the month of March – afternoon dance parties, outside games with tree cookies, and lots of opportunities to play with art supplies. We also enjoyed our St. Patrick’s Day with a celebration. We read some books about St. Patrick and shamrocks – but we had no luck in finding any of those tricky leprechauns! Our friends are eagerly looking forward to some warm, spring weather in April.
In conjunction with some of our older friends, we are working in a small decorating project for the playground – keep your eyes peeled for our work. Also, keep your eyes open for information about our Easter celebration – details to follow. We warmly welcome Tessa, Connor, and Becca to our Branches class! These new friends have spent some recent afternoons with us; it is always fun to see what joy and sparkle each friend brings to our class.
Many Blessings to all of our friends and families for the month of April.

April is a month filled with lots of excitement for our students! The spring time weather will allow us to have tons of fun activities outside. Along with the school-wide Easter egg hunt, we will be dyeing Easter eggs on Wednesday April 15th. Please send in 3 eggs (already boiled) for your child to dye. We will also have an Easter party on April 17th during lunch. Please consider bringing a "goodie" for us to share at the party. I will post a sign-up sheet outside of the classroom. We would love for you to join us if you can!
We will be working hard on our colors, numbers, and shapes this month and will hear Bible stories and sing Bible songs, too.
Our class would like to thank you for all you do and for the support you show us.
May God bless you!

I expect many rain showers to come during the month; so we will begin tracking the amount of rain fall here in Hillsborough and neighboring cities. We will continue to check and chart the weather daily and on days that it rains we will use rain buckets to measure the amount of rain fall. We will be learning about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and participating in other Easter activities like Easter egg painting and an Easter Egg Hunt. We would really like to start our planting activities; so any seeds, soil, or planters you might be able to donate to the class would be greatly appreciated. Earth day is Tuesday April 22. We will be learning about what we can do to keep the earth healthy by recycling, reducing, and re using.
Happy Birthday to Bayleigh April 4th, Jordan April 13th, and to Amadi April 28!
