Summer Math Challenge
All About the Commissioner's Summer 2020 Math Challenge
What is the Summer Math Challenge?
As a result of extended school closures in 2020 from COVID-19, it is now more important
than ever to keep math skills sharp and prevent any further learning loss. In an effort to
address this need, the State of Connecticut launched the Commissioner’s Summer Math
Challenge. Why? Because being mathematically literate is important. Mathematically
literate individuals are able to make informed decisions about the world around them and
have the interest and confidence to meet the needs and challenges of today’s society.
There are two ways for K-6 students to participate this summer: The Quantile Summer Math Challenge and Connecticut's Summer Math Passport. Click the picture below or click here to read a special letter to parents and students about the challenges offered this summer!
