Hello, Lighthouse Families,

It’s summer eve! We made it! While the formal school year may be wrapping up, learning can happen anytime, anywhere. As we transition into summer, I hope you can keep the learning going - whether that's through SLP summer school, SLP community education, reading books at home or at the library, taking walks in the park...the possibilities are endless.

Here are a few updates before we close this school year:

7th Grade Families: I wanted to share about the amazing optional field trip to Washington, D.C. next year. I did share this information this past fall as well but wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to see this opportunity.

  • When: October 16-19, 2022
  • Where: Washington, D.C. and surrounding sites
  • Who: Students who will be in 8th grade in 2022-2023
  • What: Visit numerous museums, monuments, and other historic sites
  • How: Fly both ways—leave early morning 10/16 and return at night 10/19
  • Why: Fantastic lifetime memories :-)
  • Trip ID#: 199960
  • World Strides trip information and registration link (this is specifically for Spring Lake Park): https://worldstrides.com/custom/westwood-ms-dc-199960/
  • If you have any questions, please email Ms. Visser at: evisse@district16.org

Lighthouse Student Directory has been requested by parents. If you would like to have your child(ren) included in the directory, please fill out this form. Only include the information you would like in the directory. A digital copy of the directory will be sent to the families that choose to be included by the end of next week.

Report cards will be available to view on Campus Parent Portal starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Summer contacts: Keep in touch this summer. Our main office hours will vary over the summer, but please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. The District Services Center also is open all summer should you need help, 763-600-5000.

School communications will resume in early August with information about Meet and Greet, school supplies, and the overall plan for the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

Thank you for supporting your student and our school….enjoy the summer. We’ll see you back September 6!

With Gratitude,

Lisa Cisewski

Technology reminders as we head into summer

  • iPads:
    • Students may keep their school-issued iPad over the summer as long as they are going to return to an SLP school in the fall. If you don't want your child's iPad to come home for the summer, let your school's front desk know. If your plans change over the summer, please update your status with the District Services Center at 763-600-5000.

  • Outstanding School Fees: To check if your family has any outstanding school fees and to pay for the fees, login to Campus Parent Portal and click on “Fees.” We are asking for families to pay these fees by June 30, 2022.

Contact the tech team during the summer: The tech team is available for students and families Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. to help with iPad questions, problems and repairs. Contact the tech team by emailing techsupport@district16.org or calling 763-600-5555

One-page 2022-2023 School Calendar
