Tuesday Notice

Updates for our CPS Community for the week of 11/21

Thank you to Veterans!

Our November character topic focus word is grateful. Our fourth grade students prepared a wonderful appreciation assembly to celebrate local Veterans with connections to China Primary School. They shared some history about Veteran's Day, and led the school in singing America (My Country 'Tis of Thee) which was composed by Samuel Frances Smith, a Waterville composer. A special thanks to our fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Bentley and Mrs. Jacobs, and to Mr. Bickford our music teacher for helping to make this event a success. Check out a few photos in the gallery below of last Monday's event.

Thank you to CMS students Kelty Pooler on clarinet and Jessica Shaw on flute for their beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner last Monday at our assembly.

Learning Lab coming to CPS

Starting after Thanksgiving break, CPS is adding a space to our programming called the Learning Lab. The lab will be a place for students who need to take a break or to work through the steps of regulation so they can be successful in class. We are hopeful that this will reduce interruptions to learning for all students. We are excited about this reallocation of space to meet the needs of the students here at China Primary.

CMS 8th Grade Heritage Tour Fundraising

“The China Middle School 8th grade Heritage Tour students have already been working hard to raise money for the American Heritage Tour. It’s a week-long trip where Students and Chaperones explore historical sites throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Boston.

We have planned to do a festival of stockings virtually and also at the Erskine Craft Fair on December 3rd. We will draw winning tickets on December 17th for each stocking.

We are asking for any donations that may, or may not, fit in a Christmas stocking along with a total value of the items donated. This is our first year of doing this and we are hoping for a very successful outcome thanks to Sponsors like you!

We would like to have all donations by November 29, 2022. Please contact Alyssa Michaud at 207-692-8813 or Steph Peaslee at 207-557-5667 to arrange pick up for your donation.”

We, in RSU 18, are always looking for excellent substitute teachers and education technicians. Please reach out if you have interest or questions about this. You can see our current openings by visiting https://www.applitrack.com/rsu18/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp
