Questions

1- How the balance of power shifted and why.

  • At the very beginig of the game the army and wealthy had the power but lost it to the guerillas later in the game.

  • In the mddle of the game the Guatemalaln Gov and the guerillas Joined forces to create th G.G.G. (Guatemalan Gurillean Government)

  • Towards the end of the game the G.G.G overthrew the army and wealthy and established a comunist society but the us overthrew the G.G.G and ended the game.

2- How was cooperation and conflict shown in the game

(violence/corruption/war).

  • At the beginning of the game many of the groups joined forces such as the guerillas and the army and wealthy but later in the game the guerillas attcked them this is an example of curruption in the game. This is like how one day i will be friends with my sister and the next day she coukd be screaming at me about losing her sock. Also at the begining of the game the peasents were not getting any people coming to talk to them about making treties so eventually one of the peasents left to join the guerileas. THis happens in real life such as a family member may not be happy with their family so they go join another group (gang of hobos) if you will.

3- What role did the US have on the simulation?

  • The U.S. had a major effect on the simulation because without them at the end of the game the guerrillas would have been in charge but the united states overthrew them. This is like how parents may step in on a fight between their children or like how the U.S in real life actually does step in in third world countries.

4- What happens to a country when power shifts, is the effect positive or negative?

  • when the power shifts in a country the result can be either positive or negative depending on who is overthrowing and who is being overthrown. This ould create a rerjoice from the people or this could create a revolt against the government like in syria.

6- Apply this information to YOUR LIFE! What relationships do you have in your life, and how are cooperation and conflict evident? Provide a minimum of TWO examples!

  • Some examples of the simulation comparing to my life are how i may have a deal with my sister but later break that deal or how a greater power such as a mother may step in to break the deal peacfully. This compares to how america has stepped in between many conflicts. Another example from my life would be how a greater power such as a parent could completly overule the country or myslef when trying to do something.
