Paschal HS
After winning districts a couple of weeks ago, The Paschal boys' and girls' swimming and diving team was back in action recently competed at the Region 1 6A Swimming and Diving Regionals. Despite us being in a tough region with two teams that will be contenders to win it all at state. Paschal did well. There were a lot of great swims and swimmers going personal best times in the two days of competition. We had quite a few swimmers advance and participated in the finals. All of our relays advanced to the finals and the boys’ 200 medley relay and girls’ 200 free relay won both of the consolation finals. Most of the relays went the fastest times they went all season. We had freshmen Jackson Beck and Victoria Chandler advance to the final. Upperclassman Ryan Louden, Carter Martin, and Grant Chapa competed as well in the finals in their individual races. Overall, it was a great meet for Paschal.
At Regionals For the 2nd year in a row Grant Chapa earned 2 state berths to state. Grant Chapa placed 2nd in the 100-yard Fly as well as the 100 yard backstroke with respected times of 50.13 and 50.22 seconds. He was really close to his best times in those races, and he will be looking to go faster on next Friday against the best across the state of Texas in Austin.

Today was a LONG DAY, but we finished strong and we're coming home with some hardware. There is no 4A in wrestling division. You must focus on your opponent and not the name on the uniform. Our wrestlers were ready to go at the sound of the whistle and pulled off some big upsets to earn a trip to Frisco this Thursday. Please make sure you congratulate Trishtan Willis placing 2nd overall in the 190 weight class, Tavares Hamilton placing 4th overall in a tough 150 weight class, Raziel Gutierrez placing 5 overall in the 106 weight class, and Tiara Reed with her first two wins placing 3rd over all in the women's 165 weight class.
Thank you teachers and staff for all your support. BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU to Mrs Patty! Our kids are physically strong because she helps make sure they eat everyday. Thank you to Coach Rib for stepping up and driving us this morning. It takes a village!
