We have three classes that will be filled by new staff. We are working this weekend to fill those positions. As soon as it is possible, those teachers will be reaching out to you in order to meet you and share information about the school year. Again, we appreciate your patience at this time.

What will school look like?

School will be in session from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm daily. Every morning at 8:00 a.m., the classroom teacher will start the day live on Zoom with a 30 minute community building activity. This is part of our social emotional learning curriculum. Lunch will be 11:00 a.m. to noon for all students and staff. In addition to the school day, there is time set aside each week for teachers to connect with families.


Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

PE and Music two times per week

Literacy: Teachers College Reading and Writing Units of Study

Math: Math Workshop

Science: Twig science is our new district adopted curriculum

Supplemental instruction:

ELD, Special Education, and Intervention services will be partially in person in the neighborhood and partially online


Your child's class schedule will be shared either in Seesaw (K-3) or Canvas (4-5). Teachers will be giving guidance about those two platforms.

Technology Updates

All students will be charged a $20 insurance for the device. You can pay the fee, opt out if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, or not pay. The $20 insurance covers loss or damage.


Student Chromebook Login Change:

Beginning September 8, students will use their full BSD email address to log into a chromebook (ex. 12345@bsd48.org). This provides increased account security improvements. Setup, login instructions and answers to general support questions can be found on the FAQ page.


Student Chromebook Usage Summary Report:

This fall, parents will automatically receive a report on their child's weekly chromebook usage. More information is available here.

Food Boxes are loaded into the trunk of most vehicles in parking lots to keep everyone safe. Drivers and volunteers are asked to maintain physical distancing while distributing vital food resources, in accordance with CDC best practices... all while wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
