A Dark and Stormy Night
Simile-A figure of speech in which two things are compared.
When they shot him down on the highway, Down like a dog on the highway. It`s comparing shooting and a dog and the picture shows that the person got shot on a highway
Metaphor-something used to represent something else.
The moon was a ghostly galleon, tossed upon cloudy seas. Comparing moon and ghostly galleon and shows the moon above the sea
Personification-Giving a non-human, characteristics
But the wash from the speeding yacht slapped him in the face. It is comparing the waves and it slapping him and the picture shows the waves from a yacht

Back, he spurred like a madman, shouting a curse to the sky. It`s comparing spurred and madman and it shows the sky that the madman is shouting at

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees It`s comparing torrent and darkness and this shows the wind blowing the trees
Personification
Who cares how a jaguar feels, "perhaps the jaguar does" It`s saying that the jaguar has feelings like a human

His hair like mouldy hay. It`s comparing his hair and mouldy hair and the picture shows what mouldy hay looks like

The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor It`s comparing the ribbon and the moonlight. And the picture shows the moonlight over the purple moor
Personification
"Because Death, in approaching had stalked with his black shadow face before him, and enveloped the victim. Death is an event and it can`t stalk people, and this picture shows someone stalking someone else
