IN CLASS & AT HOME
In our first class, students are reviewing foundational techniques such as hand position, posture, rhythms, pitches, and articulations. Ask your student about "Tiny Tip Time" after their first class! I really encourage student-led learning among year-2 students, and this is one way we foster that. By the end of the year I want 6th graders to be independent learners, in control of their own musicianship.
At home, students are to be playing. Yep, that's the assignment. Get out your instrument and play on a regular basis. Mrs. T's vision of regular at this point: 10+ min at least 5 days a week. :-)
ADDITIONAL INFO FOR BEGINNING 6TH GRADERS
1. There will be a Beginner Parent Meeting on Tues., Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Intermediate cafeteria. No worries if you can't make it.
