All Saints Outreach News

February 2023

As we begin the season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, please remember both local and international programs that work to alleviate hunger. Here in our own community, we are serving record numbers of students through our Backpack Program which helps fill the weekend hunger gap. Internationally, our CRS chapter is working to advocate for the 2023 Farm Bill which provides funding for Food for Peace and the McGovern Dole Food for Education programs. As always, we are grateful for the many All Saints parishioners who lend their time or financial support to helping our community!

Especially during the winter months, gas cards are needed for those who rely on their vehicle for housing. If you are looking for an easy way to give back, Fred Meyer gas cards ($20 or $25) are always in demand. Cards can be dropped off at the parish office or placed in the collection basket at Mass. Thank you!

Patron Saint for the Unemployed

St. Cajetan is the patron saint for the unemployed. The son of a nobleman, he founded a charitable nonprofit bank designed to protect the poor from usury. He sought to save souls through living a moral life, sacred studies, preaching and tending to the sick and the poor. The Prayer to St. Cajetan for Job Seekers says, in part, “By the prayers and holy example of St. Cajetan, patron of all job seekers, encourage all those looking for work to persevere and grow in deeper trust of Your unfailing care for them. Increase in them, O Lord, the gifts of ingenuity, courage and persistence.”

PREPARES - Open Your Heart

The PREPARES program is a nurturing response and promise to mothers and fathers who have chosen life. A promise of support and care from pregnancy to their child’s fifth birthday. This parish based program offers life-affirming services to vulnerable children and their families.

Here at All Saints, we have one trained mentor who works with families. We also offer diapers and wipes through our delivery food bank. We'd love to add more mentors to the team!
