Glendale-River Hills

August 2020: School District Update

Dear Glendale River Hills Families:

On Tuesday, July 28th the school board unanimously voted to start the school year in a FULL VIRTUAL model for all students. We recognize this is a challenging decision for many families and are hopeful to provide limited assistance with childcare options.

Here is the link to the presentation shared at the board meeting that occurred last evening, August 5th, which is also posted on the website which provides more information on our phased-in approach. The current board directive is that we are starting at phase 2, with a goal to transition to phase 3 quickly. These phases are described in more detail in the presentation or see the graphic below.

Reopening Presentation

Please expect full registration materials to be emailed to your Infinite Campus account by next week.

Big picture

Best of Luck, Mr. Nasif Rogers

We are proud and sad to report that Nasif Rogers has resigned from his position as principal and formally accepted a position with Wauwatosa Schools as their new Director of Equity for the 2020 - 2021 school year. Mr. Rogers has been a true asset to the district over the past several years and will be truly missed.

The district posted the position and currently has 68 applicants. We have a list of staff members willing to be a part of the hiring committee and would love parent input. Please contact Larry Smalley for more information on providing input on our hiring process.

Best of Luck to Mr. Rogers!

Lunch Update

We are continuing to provide curbside pick-up lunch services from 10:00-11:30 @ Glen Hills on Monday & Wednesday throughout the summer. Families can get bulk lunch bags to reheat throughout the week.

As a district, we are committed to providing a quality education for ALL students.

Our commitment is to EVERY kid, EVERY day, Whatever it takes!
