Weekly Update
March 28, 2021
Hello Vikings,
We wanted to share an update with you regarding prom for this year. Based on current direction from Loudoun County Public Schools, we will not be able to host prom this April in our typical off-campus venue. We are continuing to collaborate with our district-level offices to plan a senior celebration event outdoors on our campus in accordance with current health guidelines and the governor’s order. We are sorry that we will not be able to hold prom in ways that have been part of our Valley traditions in the past. We do, however, look forward to forging new pathways with this senior class moving into April, May, and June. We want to assure you that we are actively exploring options to continue recognizing and celebrating our seniors throughout the remainder of the spring. Finally, graduation is still planned to be on campus in our stadium for June 12th following health mitigation guidance set forth by VDOE and the Governor’s office.

AP TESTING AT LOUDOUN VALLEY
Hello Everyone,
The AP schedule is set. There are 2 types of exams this year: 1-Paper and 2-Digital. No transportation will be provided for AP testing.
- If a test is designated paper, you must come into Loudoun Valley to take it.
- If a test is designated digital, you are expected to take it at home.
- If your internet is weak or slow, you may opt to attend an on-site administration held at Loudoun Valley. Same date, same time. You will, however, have to provide your own transportation. You will need to let your AP teacher know if you need to come into Loudoun Valley to take the test no later than April 9th.
The following are the tests, their date/times, and whether they are Paper or Digital.
IMPORTANT: STUDENTS TAKING AN AP A CALCULUS, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS OR STATISTICS AP EXAM: PLEASE READ BELOW!
* In the above testing schedule, you take the AP Exam on Paper on the dates assigned.
* You have the option of switching your date and testing format to Digital.

BILLIE JEAN KING YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD SCHOLARSHIP
The prestigious Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award is now open for nominations as part of ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Awards.
The Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award recognizes and supports young people demonstrating how they are using the power of sport as a catalyst for change within their local school or community. This year, the Award winners will receive some incredible opportunities:
- They will receive a one-time scholarship of $10,000 to go toward their college education or a grant to the nonprofit charitable program of which they are a part of.
- They will be honored and their work celebrated during the Sports Humanitarian Awards ahead of this year’s ESPYS, joining the incredible nominees of other prestigious awards, including the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award and the Stuart Scott ENSPIRE Award.
- They will participate in learning development and experiential experiences, which includes once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that will help improve and further their efforts to use sport to make change in their local communities, including: mentoring, leadership coaching, engaging with senior leaders in sport, participating in sport-for-development workshops, and the chance to meet and learn from legendary athlete and social activist, Billie Jean King.
- And finally, through the Award’s alumni program, the winners will forever be part of a meaningful and powerful network of youth leaders who we believe will go on to achieve great things for their community and the world, all through the power of sports.
Given the impactful work your organization does, we would like to invite you to nominate young people (under the age of 25) that you feel confident meet the program criteria and illustrate the characteristics of this award. LV BOOSTERS LOOKING FOR SPONSORS
LV Boosters is looking for sponsors. WHY SPONSOR THE BOOSTERS in the COVID-19 WORLD?
We are a 501c3 organization, so for those looking to maximize charitable donations as the New Year begins, now is the perfect time to sponsor! Any amount you give is tax-deductible and helps us keep our sports programs thriving, which is more important for our students' mental health now than ever. And this year, this sponsorship includes the 2021-2022 school year, so you are getting 1 1/2 worth of sponsorship for the price of one year.
We are funded through corporate sponsorships, fundraisers, and concessions. Although we did not have spring and fall sports, we still had expenses with no revenue coming in. Your dollars are returned to the athletic programs through the funding of trips and transportation, uniforms, equipment, awards, trophy cases, stadium, and field maintenance.
Interested in sponsoring? Check out our packages.
Thank you,

PAVE THE WAY COMMEMORATIVE BRICK CAMPAIGN
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Loudoun Valley Athletic Boosters is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Pave the Way Commemorative Brick Campaign!
You can become a part of LVHS history by choosing to place your Legacy brick on our beautiful campus. Future generations will walk the path to the stadium and see that you or a loved one was part of our unique and special community.
Each Legacy brick can be inscribed with a student's name, a family name, even a business for those sponsors that would like to be included on our pathway. You can also pick an icon that tells the story of their time spent here.
To place your order, got to https://www.bricksrus.com/donorsite/loudounvalley and fill out the form. You will have the opportunity to choose the size of your Legacy brick, write the inscription you wish and pick from a large assortment of icons. Also available is an additional brick memento that is an identical Legacy brick with the same inscription that you get to bring home.
Once you have made your order selection, you can pay by credit/debit card using Paypal.
Once the initial launch is complete, your Legacy brick will be installed in the first installation phase which we hope will be around June 2021. You will be notified when installation is finished so you may come take a walk to see where it has been placed and see who shares the space where your permanent Legacy will be seen by all who come to our school.
Again, thank you for becoming a part of our dedication to the Loudoun Valley student community and the people who have made it the place they call home.
