This week's update:
Hello Holy Cross Families,
We are so thankful that all of you continue to be healthy! o
To the best of my knowledge, no Holy Cross student or parent has become infected with Covid-19 and that is a blessing! We have heard sad news about grandparents, aunts, uncles and older cousins and we lift up those families with love and prayer. If there has been illness in your immediate family, please reach out and let me know.
I know that we have lots of parents who are essential workers and are putting themselves in harms way every day and we appreciate you! I am very grateful for our Holy Cross essential workers in our offices and cafeteria that come to work to help us serve our children and families every day.
Please remember that we have people in the office 5 days a week to help. Teachers are available by email or phone or live meetings. Please use all of these resources.
We invite you to COME TO OUR MAY DAY PARADE, this Friday May 1st. Our teachers and staff will form a parade route for you in our parking lot and we invite you to drive by and say hello to all of your special Holy Cross friends. We will be very safely distanced. Parents and students should stay in their cars and we will all stay next to our cars.
We are putting together an anthology of student work entitled, "Crusader Kids of Covid-19". We are encouraging our students to submit their essays, poems, journal entries, drawings, cartoons, etc. that describe their experience as they live through quarantine under Covid 19. The deadline to submit a piece of writing or a drawing is Monday, May 18th. Entries should be emailed to Mrs. Mackey (typed) and drawings can be scanned and emailed, or dropped off in the school office.
You may have been hearing in the news that there are some security concerns about zoom. However, we have not had any problems and do not anticipate having any because we are using all of the security features available including waiting rooms and passwords.
I need to remind you all once again that your children must make contact with teachers by whatever method that is being used to check in for daily attendance. While we cannot be together in our physical building, school very much is still in session. Parents, please do not just ask your children if they are doing their work and then accept a yes or no answer. This is very hard for our parents, we know, but some students need more help and supervision than others.
We understand the difficulties that our families are facing and we are extending LOTS of grace, especially to our younger students. We will help in any way that we can! By this time, however, most students in 3rd grade and up should be very accustomed to the delivery of material and logging onto their classes. If you are having trouble, please reach out. We are here to help.
8th Grade and K5 Graduation Information
Most of our graduates have been signed up for photos. If you have not, please click the link. This is for K5 students and 8th grade students only.

It is very important that everyone is ON TIME as only one child/guardian will be admitted into the church at a time to get their photo taken for safety reasons.
We are taking a wait and see approach to graduation ceremonies however, if it is at all possible they will be scheduled. Otherwise, we will come up with an alternative plan that still is special for our kindergarten and 8th grade graduates.
2020-21 School Year
First and foremost, we are extending the discounted EARLY REGISTRATION period until June 30th. That is an extra 2 months. Registration is still going on during Covid-19 in the business office each day. You first need to complete the registration online through FACTS, then come to the business office to sign the paperwork. It is very simple. Please reach out to Mrs. Escobar if you are in need of help. She is in the office most every day from 9 to 3.
Second, we want our students to have the opportunity to have some closure and properly say goodbye to this year's teacher(s). So, our first day of school for 20-21 will be for our current students only. New students will not come to school on the 1st day. Our returning students will come to school and spend the morning ( it is early release) with their teacher from this year. They will have a chance to spend some time together and properly say goodbye and move on. Then, on the second day, which is Tuesday, all of the students, returning and new, will come for what is our real 1st day of school. They will go to their new classes with their new teachers and we will have our opening chapel.
Other than this, there is not much more I can share with you about next year at this time. We do ask that you share with your friends, co-workers, family and neighbors about our wonderful school and remember that we do have a referral credit program. The purpose of this is to thank you for your support and telling others about Holy Cross.
