Transition to the Junior High
The Junior High has begun the process of transitioning your son/daughter as a seventh grader! We are confident that the outstanding academic foundation Greene has established will carry on here at the Junior High. In addition, the Junior High has a dynamic after school life with many athletic opportunities and clubs. We look forward to your family joining our Junior High community. While the transition process is in the early planning stages, we are very excited to think about your son/daughter joining us in August!
Below are some important dates regarding the scheduling and transition process:

6th Grade Choir Auditions
Jesse Callahan and Deborah Stein would like to thank all of the 6th graders who auditioned for JH choir for next year. There are close to 200 singers! 6th grade students who auditioned for JH choir should check their Sycamore email today for placement information. Students were placed in the choir that we feel they will be the most successful. Remember- with close to 400 kids singing, next year, they WILL know someone in their choir and even better, they WILL meet lots of new people! This selection will also be marked on their course selector. 6th graders who are still interested in being in choir at the junior high are encouraged to contact the directors at steind@sycamoreschools.org or callahanj@sycamoreschools.org. It is not too late to become a part of this award winning program.
Greene School Talent Show!
The Greene School Student Council is sponsoring a Virtual Talent Show!
Your child (ren) will have the option to enter a virtual talent show. This is an optional activity, it is not a competition, and there will be no winner. Since we are doing our talent show virtually this year, your child(ren) will submit their video on a Flipgrid. All Greene School Students, no matter their grade or learning form this year, will have the same Flipgrid. The rules state that acts can be done in a group, but ultimately that decision is up to you. If your child(ren) does (do) choose to enter, be sure that all acts are in before the 5th of March. Talent show acts have to be done at home. Teachers will be able to view the Flipgrids and they will be encouraged to share them during Flex on March 12. Please know that only people inside of the Sycamore School District will be able to see this.
For more information and rules, please click on the link below.
From our school nurse
Attention: Parents of 6th Grade Students
Two immunizations are required by the state of Ohio (ORC 3313.67) before the start of 7th grade. Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis booster) and Meningitis (MCV4). Your child may already have had them at their 11 year old check up. If so please obtain a copy of those immunizations. If not, please make an appointment for your students to get these two immunizations. Once you have obtained copies of TDAP and MCV4, send them to Laurie Dobrowolski RN at E.H. PEBT
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently authorized the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) through the 2020-2021 school year. To qualify for P-EBT during the 2020-2021 school year, children must be approved for free or reduced-price meals either in the 2019-2020 or the 2020-2021 school years.
If families qualify for free or reduced price meals LAST school year and you have not filled out a form yet for the 2020-21 school year, it is important that you fill out a form again this school year if you feel you will qualify.
If families did not qualify for free and reduced priced meals last school year but believe they might this school year due to financial changes during this unprecedented time please fill out a free and reduced price meal application online here. Any families who qualify this school year will not only receive P-EBT for each student they have in the district, but also receive free or reduced priced meals for the first 30 days of next school year.
We understand that everyone is receiving free meals this school year, but filling out this form is necessary for ANY other benefit that it provides - this includes but is not limited to the P-EBT through ODJFS, fee waivers, extracurricular waivers, building assistance programs, etc.
More information on filling out a free and reduced price meal application can be found here.
Contact the Child Nutrition Department with any further questions. (513) 686-1796.

Greene School Yearbook - Uploading photos
We realize this has been a most challenging school year and we would like you to help us with our yearbook photos. We want to ensure that all of our Greene students appear in the yearbook, and we would also like to show what student life has been like at the Greene School.
If your student was not photographed during our two fall picture days, you may upload a portrait to a website, which Jostens has created for Greene School photos. Please be sure to include name, grade, and homeroom. The website allows parents to upload photos directly to our yearbook "library." You will "choose a file", enter your email address, and fill in the requested information. Also, if you have any photos of your student(s) engaging in school sponsored activities, you may also upload those photos as well. Here is the website.
https://images.memoryebooks.com/416174110.
This website will be available until March 15, 2021. Thank you for your assistance in making the Greene School yearbook a memorable one!
