Kirkwood School District Announces District Teacher of the Year
Katie Meyers, Kirkwood High School Language Arts teacher, was selected as the Kirkwood School District Teacher of the Year for 2022-23. Katie was selected through an interview process conducted by the Teacher of the Year selection committee.
Katie is a Pioneer, through and through. As a student, she attended Westchester, North Kirkwood Middle, and Kirkwood High School. She lives in the Kirkwood community and her children attend(ed) Kirkwood schools.
Katie believes, "a student's well-being is more important than any grade. What is essential to student learning is building relationships, keeping them on track and accountable, while not stressing them out and getting each of them to do their individual best."
Congratulations again to Katie and all the outstanding Teachers of the Year who represent the many Kirkwood teachers and staff throughout the District.
Thank you to our Social Workers
This week is National School Social Worker Week. Kirkwood School District recognizes the impactful work our social workers do to support students, families, and community. The theme for National School Social Work Week 2022 is “Time to Shine.” Kirkwood School District believes that our School Social Workers shine brightly for their students, families, and school communities. Shining hope. Shining understanding. Shining respect.
Please take a moment this week to celebrate our social workers. Emilie, Kim, Tonya, Emily, Jamie, Emma, Kalen, and Kelly are tremendous assets to our district and families, and are tireless advocates for our students.

COVID Dashboard and Report Positive Case Form
Per our commitment to transparency throughout the pandemic, the KSD COVID Dashboard will continue to provide information about positive cases in the District. View the dashboard by visiting kirkwoodschools.org/coviddashboard
The primary role of the dashboard is to provide data specific to the potential for in-school transmission. One of the ways we can ensure the dashboard is as up-to-date as possible is quick and accurate reporting of any student that tests positive for COVID. Families can self report a positive case by using completing the Report a Positive Case form.
