Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 11 - 10/30/22
Greetings Clipper Nation!
I know I keep counting down, but we only have six days left of the first term. Learning and passing classes are our top priorities; the best way to do that is by helping students get the highest grade possible. Please continue to encourage your student to stay strong over the next six days. I want the Clipper Nation to shine when it comes to academics.
Winter sports are just around the corner as we are getting ready to end the first term and entering the play-off season for fall sports. Many teams have already held interest meetings. If your student is shy about reaching out but wants to play a sport, all the coaches' emails are included in the message. Don't hesitate to reach out. Also, remember all the great clubs we have. Encourage your students to get involved.
Last week you met the administration team. This week we want to give a shout-out to our Student Government Executive Board. In the picture below, from left to right, are...
Aarna Lulla (Parliamentarian), Mason Layne (Treasurer), Kara Lewis (President), Kelsi Harris
(Secretary), Cedrick Jung (1st Vice President), Amr Hamza (Senior Class President), and Dawood Qaiser (2nd Vice President). We appreciate their leadership and all they do to help students have a great experience at JMB.

Late to School
If you know your student will be late for school, please send them with a note so we can excuse their lateness. Students start earning referrals on the fourth lateness to school.
Parking Permits
Update - Starting in October students will receive warnings if they are parking without a parking permit. Later in the month if students are still parking without a parking permit stickers will be placed on windshields.
Attendance
Please check your email and spam folder for emails from us about attendance.

College Essay Support
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Through the Title IV grant, Ms. Cahall and Mrs. Taylor will be available to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 3rd – Saturday, December 31st.
Here’s how it works: You will need to email the teacher you would like to work with letting them know you would like for them to review your essay. They will then send you information so that you can upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent them. The teacher will add you in an assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur.
Contact information for Participating Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course if there is another teacher you would like to have review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!

How to Stay in the Know?
The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
