Halloween Magnetic Poetry
Kasey Bell of Shake Up Learning created a Halloween-themed magnetic poetry template on Google Drawing. There are nearly 100 words on the template. It can be used independently or as a whole-class activity. Feel free to delete words you want to omit. To add your own word magnet, make a text box, and fill it with a white background.

Build a Jack-O-Lantern with Google Slides
Click here for a lesson and Google Slides template that students can use to express their creativity and exercise their writing skills. The template includes a blank pumpkin and several slides of items that can be copied and pasted onto the jack-o-lantern, such as eyes, mouths, hats, arms, and more. Once complete, students can describe or write a story about their jack-o-lantern in the provided space. What a fun way to get excited about Halloween!
Some Reminders
- Please remind your students to bring their *charged* Chromebooks to school everyday. There have been a few instances in which we have run out of loaners in the LRC.
- If you need help with uploading artifacts to My Learning Plan, please contact me to set up a meeting.
- If you are participating in Global Read Aloud this year, please let Pat and me know how we can support you.
Two weeks ago, I sent out Digital Citizenship resources for theme #1 to all classroom teachers. To view the D64 Digital Citizenship Curriculum, please click here. Also, BrainPOP recently released a series of Digital Citizenship videos and activities. Access this link for more information.
- Don't forget to include the district hashtag (#engageD64) on all of your school-related tweets. And keep them coming!
