Dear Gooch Parents;

Thank you for the opportunity to work with your students and the Gooch staff. Today will be my last day as Interim Principal here at Gooch. I have enjoyed my time here. I wish you and your students continued success and well being.

Gooch Spelling Bee winners

We are really proud of all of the Gooch students who participated in the Scripps Spelling Bee at Gooch on the 19th of December, 2018. Kirsten Land (5th grade), was our first place winner, and Raquel Ventura (4th grade), was our second place winner. The Spelling Bee was very well attended with over 30 students participating. All of the participants did a great job, and showed courage in spelling on stage in front of their colleagues.

Avance Doll Making Competition

We love our great partners at Avance who do many fantastic activities with the parents in their program. Last month Avance held it's rag doll making competition, where the parent's produced some truly amazing and educational dolls. The winners of the competition were: 1st place: Maria Salinas; 2nd place Luiz Amaya; and 3rd place Yarelis Sanchez. Congratulations to you all!

PTSA Corner

Many thanks to all the generous parents who donated money to the Teacher Holiday party fund. We were able to hold a holiday party with karaoke, and a wonderful time was had by all. There was some extra money which went to purchase a collective holiday gift for the staff of a Keurig coffee machine and plenty of supplies for the Teacher's Lounge. I think we can all agree that caffeinated teachers are better teachers!


We have some great fun and educational events coming up - come and support your student.
