"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25

Community is so important to the Lord and I believe He desires for us to come to together each week. Classical Conversations is a place that the above scripture talks about, where we meet weekly, building strong relationships not only for our children but for our entire family.

I love you all! See you for Week 2!

God bless.

Classical Education

“Language itself is simply the medium in which thought is expressed. The whole of the

Trivium was, in fact, intended to teach the pupil the proper use of the tools of learning,

before he began to apply them to ‘subjects’ at all. Grammar, indeed, is a ‘subject’ in the sense that it does mean definitely learning a language—at that period it meant learning Latin. But language itself is simply the medium in which thought is expressed. The whole

of the Trivium was, in fact, intended to teach the pupil the proper use of the tools of learn-

ing, before he began to apply them to ‘subjects’ at all. First, he learned a language; not just how to order a meal in a foreign language, but the structure of a language, and hence of language itself."

—Dorothy Sayers, “Lost Tools of Learning”

Parent Help

The Parent Help is key in helping the Tutor to cover all of the material in the short amount of time that she is given. Tutors will dictate to you the help that they need but please help them before they need to ask. Parents are expected to join in with movements, in song and encourage the students. It is the Parent's job as the student's teacher to discipline the student. If the parent is not present, please assist the Tutor with discipline issues, bathroom runs, etc. so the Tutor can finish her job in a timely manner and in the best way possible.

We are also encouraging parents to sit with child if possible and to bring a notebook to keep note of any questions you child may have during class. This you can remember to discuss at home.

El Bethel has graciously allowed us to meet at their church. Please let us leave it better than when we came. We are witnessing by our service as well. Let us all chip in with vacuuming, sweeping, bathroom clean up, and etc....

I will be creating a sign up sheet for various community jobs. As far as keeping the church clean, we can all chip in and help. Thank you in advance!

Extra Support from Classical Conversations

Our community provides support for you today, but what about the other four days of the

week? Did you know that Classical Conversations has several options to support you at

home? We offer an app both for iPhone, iPad and Android as a convenient way of

reviewing the Foundations memory work.. We also offer a subscription service called

CC Connected where you can connect with other Foundations and Essentials families

around the world, download files from other families, and practice memory work.

Robert Bortins, CEO of Classical Conversations, has added a gift for you by partnering

with RightNow Media. This huge video library has now be made available to Classical

Conversations subscribers and organized into program. In addition, we will soon add a

Scribblers tier to CC Connected so that you can download quality activities for your littlest

learner. Then, they can work independently while you help an older child.
