A Message from Mrs. Garrison

Dear Powell Families,


Thank you for all you did last week to help show our teachers how appreciated they are! We have several new dates and items listed in this newsletter! Please read through to the end!


We will plan to have a Kindergarten Celebration Parade on Wednesday, May 27th from 9:00-10:00 and a 4th Grade Celebration Parade on Wednesday, May 27th from 11:00-12:00. We will send out more details in the coming weeks. We hope our Kindergarten and 4th graders are able to join us as we celebrate our wonderful students!


MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION

Mark you Calendars! Please plan to come to the school at the designated time listed below in order to pick up your child's school materials. If you are unable to come at your scheduled time, please come when you are able during the three hour window. If a neighbor or friend will be picking up your child's materials, please send an email to contactpowell@conroeisd.net with your child's name, homeroom, and the name of the person picking up the materials.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

SUMMER MOVERS

If you will be moving between now and the start of the 20-21 school year, please contact our Registrar, Michelle Lutes, at mlutes@conroeisd.net. We want to ensure your child has a smooth transition to their next school.


KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Please register now if you have a child that will be entering kindergarten next fall. Early registration helps us determine the number of teachers we will need.

School Supply Packs

SHOP NOW for your 2020-21 school supplies. Avoid the stores and get all your school supply shopping done online. EPI school supply packs contain all the items and brands our teachers require. Supply packs will be delivered to classrooms prior to Meet the Teacher. Order now with our School ID of POW000 (3 letters, 3 numbers)!

A Note from Nurse Melissa

If your child had medication in the clinic, we will be doing curbside medication pick up this Tuesday and Thursday, May 12 and 14, from 8:00-11:00. Please call the clinic phone number, 936-709-1709 when arriving to Powell and we will walk your child's medications to your car. If you have any questions, please email mawiles@conroeisd.net to discuss.

Gifted and Talented Test Results

Scores will be in soon for students who tested in the Spring semester for the Gifted and Talented Program. Parent notification letters and student scores will be mailed home the week of May 18th. Services for students who qualify for the GT program will begin in August of 2020. If you have any questions after you receive your child's scores, please feel free to contact Sarah Radford at sradford@conroeisd.net.
