Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 7 | 31 AUGUST 2022
In Pre-Primary we have been learning the story ‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell. It has made us think about what animals we like and why we think they would make a good pet! We have used adjectives to describe our favourite animals, such as – big, tall, jumpy and fierce.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Father's Day
On Sunday, it is Father’s Day. Our wonderful P&F have made many home-made gifts which will be on sale for our students to buy on Friday at school. Please support our P&F’s Father’s Day stall by giving your children some money to buy a gift. We wish all fathers and those in a fatherly caring role, a wonderful day on Sunday and trust that you will be celebrated for the important role that you play in the lives of your children.
Please keep sick children home
A reminder to all families that if your child is sick, please keep them at home. Children presenting with Covid symptoms, should be tested and return a negative result before attending school. We have RAT tests available at the front office for families who need them.
Social Justice Sunday
Social Justice Sunday was celebrated last Sunday, and this year’s statement is about Respect. The teachings of Christ promote relationships marked by respect and freedom rather than coercion and control. Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB writes that the message of the Gospel is not a message of domination of one person over another but one of mutual esteem and kindness. We consistently speak to our students about being gentle like Jesus in our interactions with one another. Our Student Code of Conduct promotes the value of Respect for Self, for Others and for Property, as an important value that we all need to uphold in order to have a safe and happy community.
God bless you all.
