SELTICE UPDATE
APRIL 14, 2022
HELLO SPRING, OR IS IT WINTER?
ISAT TESTING BEGINS THIS WEEK!
In order to be well prepared for testing, please HELP us with the following: ARRIVING TO SCHOOL ON TIME EACH DAY, GOOD SLEEP, A GOOD BREAKFAST at HOME or (free to all students at school), REMINDERS AND CELEBRATIONS FOR DOING THEIR BEST WORK FOR THESE TESTS! Thanks in advance for all of your support!
DON'T SWEAT THE TEST!
Test anxiety! We had it and now so do some of our students. Anxiety…is considered to be on of the top health concerns in America. Everyone feels fear, worry and apprehension from time to time. As you already know Seltice students are in full swing with ISAT testing. ISATS, like any test can cause some test anxiety. If you notice your student more worried or anxious, keep some of the following tips in mind or check out Wilma Jean the Worry Machine by Julia Cook (available on Amazon or check your local library or bookstore).
Test Taking Tips:
Create healthy study habits
Help build confidence
Remind your student it is just a test. These test help educators understand gaps in learning and where improvement is needed. They also help your student learn where they could use more support.
