Cash Fifth Grade
"Little House on the Playground"
Christmas Time is Coming!
Students are invited to bring an ornament for the school tree by the front office and one for the classroom tree. Students can bring favorite ornaments to decorate the trees and then take the ornaments home before the holiday break.
Thinking of Others
I had the privilege to work with a group of students last year who truly live in poverty. These were students who were thrilled to get one jelly bean as a reward for good behavior.
As I was thinking about what our own classroom will do for Christmas, I wanted our students to think of others. I have contacted the teacher I worked with last year and she has two students that are in need of some clothing and other items. I would like to propose the students purchase an item for one of these students in lieu of a large gift exchange among themselves.
The boy's size for shirts and pants is 8. He would also like a pair of boots (size 1). He likes race cars.
The little girl wears an 8 plus size pants and a regular 8 shirt. She loves Tinkerbell (think p.j.'s, belt, etc.) and would like a new backpack.
If your family would be willing to purchase an item for one of these students, you can let me know and I can share to avoid duplication or just send it in with your student.
