Crazy to think that February is coming to an end and we are welcoming in spring! I don't know about you all, but I am ready for some consistently warm weather!
The PTA is excited to bring back the yearly dance tonight Friday, February 24th, from 6-8pm. As a reminder students must have an adult attend with them. It is sure to be a fun time, and we are so excited for Mr. Lemus to be our DJ!
Please make sure to add spring break to your calendar. We will not be in school from Friday, March 10th through Sunday, March 19th.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Principal Tenbrink

NIEMAN AND DISTRICT INFORMATION
Summer Enrichment Program
Summer classes are for students currently in grades K-7. Additionally, for students meeting class age requirements, there is a pre-k class for early learners. All classes are designed to develop new interests and skills through participatory learning activities. These classes are opportunities for students to enjoy new learning that is not based on school district regular curriculum. See flyer below or click the link for more information!
Knieman Knitters- Dates
The dates have been updated for the remainder of the year. Ms. Claudia has been blown away at the amount of interest students have had in learning to knit. They have over 40 knitters and won't be able to take on any more this year. Ms. Claudia is excited to continue this club next year with our Nieman Foxes!

PTA INFORMATION AND UPDATES
YEARBOOK DESIGNER NEEDED:
Nieman PTA is in search of a Yearbook Chairman. Our current chairman: Sommer Saunders is finishing out her last year as her youngest child is in 6th grade. Sommer would love to find someone to help her this year to take over starting the 23-24 school year. Without a Yearbook Chairman, there will be no yearbook for families and staff, so if you love to design, be creative and want to keep these school memories documented for families and staff this might be the perfect position for you! The Yearbook Chairman must also be a paid Nieman PTA member. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Sommer at PTAmom81@gmail.com
Repeated Information
Testing Growth Reward!!
To help motivate students to do their best and show all that they know we are setting a building goal! Each grade level will be coming up with a special prize where if 50% of students meet or exceed their goal the grade will get a special treat!
How can you help your child reach their goal?
1. Ask your child:
-"What is your goal?"
-"What are you doing to improve your MAP score?"
-"What are you doing in class to help you reach your goal?"
2. Practice with your child:
-Have students read to you or to a sibling
-Practice quick math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication division depending on grade level)
We understand that reaching goals are challenging, we want to make sure we celebrate the students that work hard and accomplish the personalized goal!
Please, help us help YOU! Morning car loop expectations.
- ALL cars must pull ALL the way up.
- Students should have their coats on and items collected before you stop/park in order to exit their vehicle in a timely manner.
- Adults must stay in their car.
- Students need to be able to independently exit their car. If your child can not, please practice this at home, and/or park in the parking lot and walk your child to the front doors.
Thank you for helping ensure everyone stays safe, is able to get into class on time, and allow all of you to get to work in a timely manner.
Gum Free School
We have noticed a lot of mis-use of gum within the building. We have found gum on the floor, under tables and on desks. In order to keep our students safe from illness, we are going gum free. Please share this information with your child(ren). We will do the same at school.
Thank you for your support!
