Transfer Connections
News for the Week of January 14, 2013
Welcome to Winter Quarter!
As Transfers Programs Coordinator, I am excited to welcome you or welcome you back to Seattle University. Whether you are a new student entering our community or a returning student, I look forward to getting to know you and support you during your time at Seattle University. Therefore, I hope that you find this bi-weekly newsletter to be a helpful resource.
The purpose of this newsletter is to provide a general overview of timely events, programs, and resources available to transfer students. If there is anything you would like to see added, just let me know!
A little bit about me...
My name is Sha'terika Perkins and I am the first ever Transfer Programs Coordinator. Some of my responsibilities include supervising your Transfer SUccess Leaders and coordinating programs and events. I describe my main goal as fostering a community of support and active engagement among transfers. I would love to hear your ideas of how to do this:)
In addition to my work, I am also a graduate student in Student Development Administration. I am from western Illinois and am proud of my Midwestern roots! I graduate in May 2011 with a degree in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I moved to Seattle in August of 2011 and had never been here before I moved. Yikes! Since then I have come to love the city's beauty, diversity, and culture. Especially the food trucks, farmer's markets, and parks :) I also love to dance, sing (although I'm horrible), and laugh!
My office is located in PAVL 180 and I would love to meet you!
Genuinely,
Sha'terika Perkins
Transfer Programs Coordinator
