Notes from the Nurse
With flu and cold season around the corner, this is a good time to talk with your children about good hand washing, coughing into the sleeve and keeping hands away from mouth, nose and eyes. Also, here are some general guidelines to follow to determine when a child should stay home from school.
- · Temperature over 99.5
- · Vomiting within the past 8 hours
- · Having frequent diarrhea stools
- · Difficulty Breathing
- · Open sores that are draining
- · White part of the eye is red
- · Child has an unexplained rash
- · Persistent coughing
- · Your child acts or looks sick
In the event we ask that you keep your child home for 24 hours’ fever and symptom free, without any use of medication, before returning to school. If your child is needing antibiotics for infection prescribed by a physician, we ask for your child to be on that medication for 24 hours before returning to school with a doctor’s note.
Help Wanted!
Please help the office complete your child’s folder by sending in birth certificates, SSN or health forms when requested! Also, keep all your demographic information up to date! If you have recently moved or changed your phone number, please let the office know. We want to keep your contacts up to date. Thank you!
Friendly Reminders
- CES doors open at 7:25 am for breakfast. Supervision of students is not provided before this time. Thank you for arriving at school at the designated time.
- If you are planning to eat with your son or daughter at school, please call the school by 8:30 am so we can order lunch.
- Please remember to drop off and pick up students from 11th Street. This will help with traffic safety and keep our front bus loading area running smoothly.
- To help keep CES safe, please check in with the office before entering school/classrooms. If picking up from or returning a student to school, please sign him/her out in the office.
- As the weather gets colder, please remember to send a coat, hat and gloves with your child.
