New announcements:
OCEAN Field Trip: Friday October 6th - Hike Mount Zion
For this year's first Outdoor Club we are going to be hiking Mount Zion in Olympic National Forest. This is a beautiful local hike. It is 4.6 miles for the round trip (2.3 in each direction. It goes through some beautiful forests and has a view from the top if the weather is right. This should be a pretty fall hike. Please note: Outdoor club trips may vary based on the weather on a particular day. Sometimes we have to change destinations.
As always this trip is parent accompanied. Once I have three confirmed chaperones. We will have space for unaccompanied students in the vans. This is done on a first come first served basis.
Important: Please rsvp via email ASAP if you want to come. We have a lot of students this year and need to know the numbers. Please email dmolotsky@ptschools.org or kfritchman@ptschools.org

Meeting Time: 8:45
Trip Leaves: 9:00
Arrive at trailhead and hike: 9:45 - 2:00
Lunch: On Mountain top around noon
Trip Returns 3:00 ish
What to bring: Water Bottle, Lunch, Snacks, Raingear, and Appropriate Shoes.
If you have them, please bring: Journals and pencils.
1st ORCA Parent Group Meeting Oct 11 @ 5:30pm
All OCEAN parents and caregivers are invited to attend the first ORCA Parent Group meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 5:30-6:30pm at The Nest, 1119 Lawrence St. Meet others, share your ideas and needs, and learn about the upcoming Bike-A-Thon with ASB Parent Liaison, Catherine Leporati. Contact orcaparentgroup@gmail.com with questions. See you there! (*Kids are welcome to attend, there is an Xbox and side rooms with games. Please note, the coffee bar will not be open at The Nest).
OCEAN Family Campout Oct 6-8
Save the date and plan on attending the K-12 OCEAN Family Campout! Fort Flagler on Marrowstone Island Friday, Oct 6 at 3pm - Sunday, Oct 8 at 1pm. You can arrive anytime Fri-Sun to join the fun at the *Wagon Wheel group site. This is an informal time for students and parents to connect, play, and have some relaxed time together. It was a lot of fun last year! If possible please bring games and firewood. Snacks and smores provided by ORCA, but families are responsible for their own meals. Please note, RV's are not permitted. There is no cost to camp. This campout is not a school sponsored trip and is organized solely by parents. Adults must accompany their student(s) on this campout. Families assume all risk and liability for their experience. If you need a tent, please contact Koyuki, kfritchman@ptschools.org. If you have any questions or would like to help out, please email orcaparentgroup@gmail.com. There will be a handout going home with students so keep an eye out. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!

ASB Bake Sale
OCEAN ASB is seeking donations for a bake sale on Wednesday, October 4. Please drop off NUT FREE baked goods at the OCEAN office that morning, prior to 11 a.m.
Money raised supports fun events for all OCEAN students.
Bike-a- Thon on Monday, October 16
The OCEAN ASB is hosting a Bike-a- Thon on Monday, October 16. All grade levels are encouraged to participate. Students collect pledges for riding a certain distance, setting a realistic riding goal based on their age and development.
Look for more information, including pledge sheets, soon. We also need a few parent volunteers to ride with students. If you'd like to volunteer or have any questions please contact oceank12asb@gmail.com
