Review

Shiloh Season is the second book in a three part story. It is about a young boy named Marty Paterson. He has a dog named Shiloh. He lives in Friendly West Virginia. One day when he was in the town called Shiloh, he found a dog and brought him home. Marty named the dog Shiloh because that's where he found him. He kept the dog a secret until the owner of the dog found out. The true owner of Shiloh was an older man named Judd Travers. He has many hunting dogs and his best one used to be Shiloh until he ran away and Marty found him. Judd treated all his dogs terribly. He would keep them chained up and starve them. Marty didn't want to see Shiloh go back and get treated this way, so he made a deal with Judd. And eventually Marty owned Shiloh.

If you are a dog lover than I would recommend this book for you. The author did a great job at writing descriptively. She wrote the book as if she was in the story. She can create a picture that the reader can see in their minds. Her book has a very well developed story line. Therefore I would highly recommend this book for anyone who likes dogs..

In Shiloh Season, Shiloh finally belongs to Marty, but the dog's original owner, Judd Travers, has started drinking again--and for Judd Travers, beer and a gun are a dangerous combination. Marty's family seems to be the target of Judd's rage.

With hunting season approaching, Judd Travers, Shiloh's abusive former owner, has started drinking again, and Judd Travers, beer, and a gun are a dangerous combination. What if Judd tries to hurt Shiloh? What if he tries to hurt Marty or someone in Marty's family? Marty knows something about Judd no one else does, and if anything terrible happens, the secret bargain Marty struck with Judd could make it Marty's fault. Is it time for Marty to speak up? And can he find the courage to do so?
