Weekly Wrap Up!
Happy New Year!
Dear OLV Preschool Family,
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a year with many challenges. As we approach 2021 with renewed hope I continue to be grateful for our preschool family. Over this Christmastide season I invite you to breath in the beautiful cool weather and celebrate the coming holy days as a new beginning for us all.
This Wrap Up! includes some important information about our return to school. After successfully completing four months of in person learning I am confident that if we continue to work together to support the health and safety of our preschool we will be able to continue to keep our doors open and our preschool family healthy.
Blessings,
Dr. Lorenz

Holiday Travel and COVID-19
If you have traveled this holiday season please be sure to review Department of Health guidelines at https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx.
The official policy from the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is below:
Persons associated with Our Lady of Victory Catholic School and Preschool, such as employees, volunteers, students, or third-party agency employees who travel outside PA are required to quarantine for 14 days from the day they return to PA ,before they can return to OLVCS. Alternatively, the person may choose to be tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours of their return to PA and if a negative test result is documented.
Even though we aren't in the physical school building, we are required to monitor the health and well-being of students to be aware of any potential exposures when students return to school. Technically, school is "in session." If your child or anyone in your household becomes ill from COVID, COVID-like symptoms or has close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID, please notify the school by email or phone. This is required of all Catholic schools and is crucial to maintaining the health and well-being of all in our school.
OLV Preschool is only safe and healthy as you help to make it. Please review the daily health checklist. At drop off, you will be asked if there are any concerns related to the list. If you have questions about when to keep your children home, please reach out to Dr. Dawn Lorenz, Director at lorenzd@olvcs.org.
