For additional information on either of these programs, please contact Fran Meredith, AMMS Graduation Coach, at meredithf@fultonschools.org.
STUDENT HEADPHONES/EARBUDS
Our classrooms are equipped with desktop computers and student personal iPads, which will be used throughout the school day integrating technology into the curriculum and providing additional personalized learning opportunities for our students. In order to work independently on these devices and not be disruptive to others, students need to use earphones. We would like to ensure that each child has their own set of headphones or earbuds for their individual use. We are committed to provide students with their classroom supply needs, but knowing that the use of specific headphones or earbuds can be very personal, if you are able, please provide your child with a set of headphones or earbuds. We wouldn’t want any of the students to miss out on any multi-sensory learning experiences.
AMMS INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY
AMMS Instructional Technology is working to build a Virtual Reality Lab to provide these experiences for all Autrey Mill students. Through your donations, you will be providing our students at AMMS with cutting edge opportunities and preparing our students for the jobs of tomorrow.
ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS
READING
Reading is wrapping up the year with final exams. Please refer to the final exam schedule. We will also be exploring different genres in the last week of the semester.
Please remember that 2nd quarter book titles are due the day we return, January 8th. This is a list of all books your child has completed since the end of the 1st quarter. Books over 250 pages in length may count twice; books over 500 pages in length may count as three books. We will compile the numbers and data and share which classes have averaged the most books as well as which class has improved the most. We’ll also learn which students had the highest individual totals. We can’t wait to see if we’ve met our reading challenge goals we set at the end of the 1st quarter!
The holiday break is a great time to get organized and refilled with school supplies. If your child needs pencils or help organizing his or her folder, please help them out. Thanks for all you do as parents. Happy holidays to all of you and your families.

LATIN
We are at the end of the first semester! This past week has been devoted to reviewing many of the language concepts, culture topics and vocabulary accumulated over the semester. On Tuesday, December 19th the students will be taking their midterm for Latin. Here is some info I have shared with them about the midterm:
- It is cumulative, but will focus much more on the last unit of study (Stage 6)
- Topics from all culture we learned will be on the midterm
- It is multiple choice, taken on Quia
There’s a myriad of review links and resources in Google Classroom to help them review and get immediate feedback. I have also given them a checklist of what is fair game for the midterm while also recommending that they circle the topics they feel must concerned about to hone in for study time.
I hope this semester ends well for them and that they have a nice holiday break!
