BHS/AHS Weekly Update

Week of February 6th

Weekly Update

Hello All --

It seems impossible that we are winding down to the end of the season and what a season it has been. We will be sharing my season closing thoughts next Sunday. This week we are focusing on the culmination meet for many of our of swimmers and with hopes that we will get some to the state meet as well. This week's update is extremely important to read all of the information so that you are in the loop for everything including adjustments to practice times for the week. (At the Bottom of this letter)

First, we will have a senior celebration and end of season event to honor all of our swimmers. It will be held on Wednesday, February 16th. Only seniors may have guests. We were able to secure special permission for this to happen. All swimmers are expected to attend. It will be at the Beaverton Pool at 3:00pm. Invitations will go out to senior families this week.

This Friday and Saturday, the 11th and 12th, the Metro League Championship meet will be held at the THPRD Aquatic Center (50 Meter pool) there will be three sessions. We will be able to share with your swimmers what session(s) they will be participating in later this week. At this time everyone should make themselves available for all times. Most swimmers will be involved in both the Friday and Saturday early session. If a swimmer has swam in a relay, they will probably be in a relay in the early session. Only one relay per relay event is allowed in the final session. All other relays move to JV.

Unfortunately, there will be no spectators allowed. The meet will be live-streamed. As soon as we receive the link, we will share with you. In the meantime, please consider volunteering to see your swimmer swim. Sign up info below. We will also be sharing heat sheets etc... as soon as they are available. Please keep in mind that heat sheets do change so though they will be close changes can happen last minute, injury, illness, etc....

All swimmers will be released early on Friday. We are working on how that looks, transportation, etc.. and will send more info out in the next couple of days.

There will be no food of any kind allowed on deck at the meet. We will be allowed to set up a table for swimmers in the breezeway. We have a sign up genius to sign up to help us with healthier snacks and drinks for swimmers when needed. We also need a coordinator to set up and tear down, etc... We will bring two tables and tablecloths - We plan to set up both teams together so the sign up is for both teams. Please pack fruits, vegetables healthier eating options for your swimmer as well. They can go outside to eat. Please consider helping the teams out. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e45acad2ca0f85-ahsbhs

Although we wish it could be different, your swimmer will only be allowed to attend the sessions they are scheduled to swim. These are for COVID protocols. The only exception will be captains, they will be attending all three sessions.

We know that this is a lot of information. We will send out all of the proposed timelines, etc... as we receive finalized timelines.
