Push & Pull Factors
Some push factors were the immigrants eager to escape their home lands because there was a lot of prejudice and discrimination, and they wanted to get away from poverty
Some pull factors were they thought they had economic opportunities waiting for them, also for freedom, good jobs, and better homes.
Angle Island Immigration Station
- Every single one of the walls had something carved in them from different languages like Chinese poetry.
- The process unlike Ellis Island could take up to days, months, or even years.
Contributions Made From Immigrants
Some contributions from immigrants were
- Chinese restaurants
- Japanese restaurants
- Italian Pastries (cannolis)
- Different languages
- Mexican candy

Facing Challenges
Once they entered america immigrants faced poverty, discrimination, prejudice.
There was also the Chinese Exclusion Act passed in 1882 this law said that Chinese immigrants couldn't enter america if already in america the would not be compatible for a job.

Immigrants were mad about these challenges.
SAD
They were sad because the Americans didn't want them in the USA.
DIFFERENT
They felt different because they didn't often speak English.
