HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FALL CONCERT

The 2021 Fall Concert was wonderful! The music sounded incredible and it was great to see all the hard work that the students and music directors had put into the performance. There was also a large turnout of parents and families for the event.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROSWELL YOUTH DAY PARADE

The RHS Marching Band put on quite a show on Saturday as they marched through downtown Roswell in the 71st Annual Frances McGahee Youth Day Celebration.

BOOSTER BOARD MEETING (Tuesday Oct. 12)

The Band Booster Board meeting will be held in the Band Room from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All parents are invited to attend. Booster Board Minutes from prior meetings can be found here.


LAKE HARTWELL MARCHING BAND COMPETITION (Saturday Oct. 16th)

The first competition for the 2021 RHS Marching Band is almost here! We will be traveling to Hart County High School in Hartwell, Georgia for a festival and competition featuring 16 high school marching bands. Bands will be judged and trophies awarded in categories including bands, percussion, color guard, drum major, and drill team/majorette.


  • Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.00. Children 5 years and under are free.
  • There will be full concessions including Chick-fil-a sandwiches.
  • Concessions will accept cash and debit/credit cards.


There is a REQUIRED Special Marching Band Pre-Contest Rehearsal on Friday 10/15 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


ITINERARY FOR LAKE HARTWELL BAND COMPETITION (Saturday Oct. 16th)

  • 8:30 a.m. - Rehearsal in stadium (rehearsal BEGINS at 8:30 am, plan accordingly to be ON FIELD at that time)
  • 10:00 a.m. - End rehearsal and pack truck
  • 10:30 a.m. - Load buses and depart for Hart County High School
  • We will travel in shorts and t-shirt and will change upon arrival
  • 1:30 p.m. - Arrive at Hart County High School
  • We are still working out food details. We will either eat on the way or eat upon arrival depending on the options provided by Hart County High School Band.
  • 2:15 p.m. - Change into uniform
  • 2:45 p.m. - Gather at Semi truck to prepare for warm-up
  • 3:20 p.m. - Warm up begins
  • 4:00 p.m. - Competition Performance
  • 4:30 p.m. - Reload truck
  • We will change out of uniform after our performance.
  • Please bring “Roswell” swag to wear.
  • Please bring money for concessions and souvenirs.
  • Leadership will need to keep their uniform to change back into for retreat/awards
  • 5:00 p.m. - Re-enter the stadium to watch other ensembles
  • 9:30 p.m. - Awards
  • 1:00 a.m. - Arrival back at RHS


VOLUNTEER OPENINGS

Fall is in the air. What a great time to hop in the car, go for a drive to see the leaves falling, and listen to some great music. This Saturday you can do all of this by signing up as a volunteer for the Lake Hartwell Marching Band Competition!


We currently are looking for volunteers in the Pit Crew and a Videographer. Sign up now!

Our last home football game of the season is on October 22. We still need volunteers for the concession stand, grill team, 50/50 raffle, and photographers. Click this link to sign up!

October 22nd - Roswell vs. Milton


Extravabandza (Saturday Nov. 13th) is a great community event held at RHS that raises awareness of the band and is one of our key fundraisers. This year's theme will be carnival and games. We are looking for two parents to be part of the planning committee. We will meet once a week for an hour and will plan the different activities as part of the event. We will also need volunteers to assist with running the events (Stay tuned for event sign-ups). Sign up via Charms or email roswellbandfundraising@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!

3rd QUARTER MEAL

Buy your band student a 3rd quarter meal or snack for the Milton game. Students simply go over to the Visitor's Concessions stand during the 3rd quarter to pick up their prepaid meal or snack. Check out the 3rd Quarter Meal options. The deadline to purchase for the upcoming game is Thursday, Oct. 21st.


TRUNK-OR-TREAT REHEARSAL (Thursday Oct. 28th)

The RHS Marching Band will have a Trunk-or-Treat Rehearsal on October 28th. Students should plan to wear their Halloween costumes. After a shortened rehearsal, the band will move to the band field parking lot for a fun evening including candy, smores, and hay rides!


Parents/students can sign up to bring their decorated cars and the students will trick-or-treat from their "trunks". Participating parents/students will bring candy/snack donations.

RHS BAND TRIP! (February 18-21, 2022)

The Roswell High School Band (class band and marching band) has been invited to perform in a parade at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida! This is during a Fulton County school break.


The trip will include:

  • Travel by Private Coach to Orlando, Florida
  • Three Nights Lodging at Wyndham Resort & Conference Center
  • Breakfast provided each morning at hotel
  • Two (2) Park-to-Parks Admission Ticket to UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT includes UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and ISLANDS of ADVENTURE
  • UNIVERSAL STARS PARADE PERFORMANCE
  • One (1) Dinner at HARD ROCK CAFE OR MARGARITAVILLE
  • Free time to shop and explore CITYWALK
  • All taxes and gratuities


The cost of the trip will be a maximum of $700 and will drop with more participants. More details to follow, but please fill out the following form to help us plan. All band students and any parent interested in attending (either as a chaperone or non-chaperone) should complete the form.

TRUCK DRIVER: PAID POSITION

Do you know of anyone with a semi truck and CDL who would be interested in pulling the RHS band trailer on Friday away games and a few Saturday competitions? This is not a volunteer position and the driver does not need to be a band parent. We are budgeted to pay the standard rate for the driver, truck, and fuel, plus a cash tip to the driver. Please spread the word among all of your business and family contacts.

OPENING FOR BAND TREASURER

We are currently looking for someone to fill the position of Band Treasurer. Although our current treasurer, Aimee Christian, will be active until the end of 2021, we are recruiting now to provide sufficient time for a new volunteer to learn the position. The Band Treasurer manages the finances, budget, and transactions associated with the band. If you would be interested, please contact Aimee at treasurer@roswellband.com.
