Superintendent Search Update
Oakdale Public School | September 30, 2022
Letter from the Board of Education
The Oakdale Board of Education accepted Dr. Joe Pierce’s letter of resignation at our Special Board Meeting on September 29, 2022. He will be retiring and leaving his role as Superintendent of Schools on December 31, 2022. He will remain the effective leader of this district until that date.
At this time, we will not be naming or considering an Interim Superintendent. The Board of Education will immediately begin a broad, thorough, and transparent selection process to determine Oakdale’s next Superintendent.
During our regular board meeting on October 11th, the Board of Education will decide upon utilizing either the Oklahoma School Public Resource Center (OPSRC) or the Oklahoma State School Board Association (OSSBA) Superintendent Search Services to act as our facilitator throughout the entirety of this formal search.
We hope to complete the search process within six months. Shortly, we will meet with staff and community patrons to ascertain perspectives on the strengths, challenges, and goals that you see in our school district. Feedback gathered from your participation will inform the development of the search and evaluation criteria for our next Superintendent of Schools.
We want to encourage you all to be active participants in this important process. As we develop our search plan, timeline, and milestones with our facilitator, we will communicate with you via the Oakdale School webpage under the Superintendent Search banner.
Please reach out to any of us during this period with your thoughts and questions regarding this process. We are confident that together we will find a Superintendent who will provide us the leadership that deepens our traditions, embraces the challenges that broaden our growth, and above all, is guided by a student’s first ethos that advances all aspects of the educational experience for our students, staff, and families.
Sincerely,
Todd Corbin, President (405) 513-2908
Kimber Shoop, Vice President (405) 833-4661
Erin Hulsey, Clerk (918) 284-7231
