War of 1812
The second war between England and America
The Four causes of the War of 1812
Impressment
Embargo Act
The second cause was the economic problems or more specifically the embargo act. This means that trade was stopped between America and Europe. Some good and bad things came as cause of this like the American ships being safe but the economy had to suffer. They started a new act called the non-intercourse act this restored trade but stopped it with Britain and France. The Americans were upset that they had to go through this difficulty and suffering and they wanted war.
War Hawks
The third cause was the "war hawks" they wanted war against Britain. The war hawks were newly elected congressmen who were angry at the British for either damaging their trade with Europe or because they blamed then for the indian attacks.

The 4 effects of the War of 1812
The second effect of the war was politics. The federalists look less patriotic because of how they fled during the war. Whereas William Henry and Andrew Jackson looked like heroes.
The third effect of the war was the foreign relations. America had became a world power and no longer had to depend on the British for everything.
The fourth and final effect is the culture. America no longer looked to Europe instead they looked west to expand. America also created a unique culture distinct from Europe. And lastly America entered a period of nationalism.
