From the Principal Desk—
Hello Park Families!
As you read this, I hope all of you who lost power or had storm damage have been able to resume your normal routines. Due to the school closure last Friday, our Picture Day has been rescheduled for Monday, October 2nd.
We are off to a great start at Park! All students in grades 1-3 are in the process of taking beginning of the year assessments in math and reading. These scores will help us plan instruction and meet the needs of individual students. Our goal for each child is to meet their projected growth. You will hear more about this at our Parent Orientation on September 13th. If you are interested in learning more about our standards based grading, I will be presenting a brief program on the new report card for parents of students in Grades 1 and 2. Please keep in mind that students do not need to attend orientation.
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s educational journey. I hope you have a wonderful, restful weekend! I bet I will see many of you around town or at the fair!
Thank you,
Jill Makee

Shannon Kaufman, PTO President:
Shannon (and her husband, Chuck) are Hilltopper Alumni 2004. She has a 2nd grader, Lola, and a preschooler, Charlie. This is her second year volunteering with Park PTO, and first as President. She is a freelance graphic designer and full time office manager of 19 years for a manufacturing company in Mentor. She and her family enjoy hiking, biking, and snowboarding adventures. She is thrilled to be involved with Park and all the exciting adventures the PTO can provide the students and staff this year.
Tiffany Klinger, Co-Vice President:
Tiffany is excited for her first year as Co-Vice President for the Park PTO. She and her husband (Jearamy) have been married for 10 years and have two kids. Harper is a 2nd grader at Park and Jameson is in Kindergarten at CELC. She works full time as a Process Consultant with Progressive. When she isn’t shuffling kids to an activity or sport practice/game, she loves spending time outdoors, traveling and trying new things with her family. Tiffany said there are tons of fun things in store for the kiddos, staff and families this year and she is looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces at the upcoming PTO meetings/events.
Mandy Rosplock, Co-Vice President:
Mandy has a 3rd grader, 1st grader, and a preschooler in the Chardon school system. She has been on the board for 2 years and enjoys being involved in the community. Mandy was born and raised in Mentor, Ohio, and taught math in both public and private education systems for 10 years before staying home with her children. She now works as studio manager and strength coach at HMBL Training.
Megan Ghobrial, Treasurer:
Meghan is a mom of 4, ages 13 to 8. She is a former CPA and volunteers as treasurer of the Park PTO and CMS Hilltoppers PTO. Her family has lived in Ohio for 10 years and you can find her hiking or running and taxiing her children to their activities. She is an Alabama fan so Roll Tide!
