Principal’s Message

Hello Knight Families,

Wow, in less than a month we will be closing out the 2019-20 school year. No doubt, there is much to do in a short period of time. While this is not the way we imagined it ending, I am thankful for your flexibility and patience. In the coming weeks, you will be receiving more detailed information about returning school property and collecting your student’s personal belongings. Additionally, parents of seniors will also be receiving detailed plans about how we intend to celebrate your graduates. We know that our seniors have missed out on some traditions and we want to make sure they know how much we care about them. Please be sure to have your senior complete their “Senior Slide” so that we can continue to honor them in June. We want to make sure all seniors are included.

We have also dedicated the month of May to saluting a senior athlete and performing arts senior each day on our social media accounts. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. If you have a senior who participates in spring athletics or performing arts, please see our tributes to them below:

Big picture

Our Emergency Learning Plan continues until the end of the school year, and I encourage you to monitor your student’s progress to ensure they have submitted their work for the essential standards each week. Our teachers are working hard to support students and we truly appreciate your assistance at home. If you have questions about expectations for your student, please reach out to a teacher, counselor, or administrator.

Again, thank you for your continued support this year. Our partnership is a huge reason Kellam is such a special place.
