Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Tustumena Families. We hope you enjoy your long weekend (no school Thursday or Friday this week) and are able to spend quality time as a family.

If you find yourself alone on Thanksgiving and are looking for a community Thanksgiving dinner, here are just a few that we are aware of: Kasilof Community Church is having one on Thanksgiving Day from 12-3pm and it is open to everyone; College Heights Baptist Church on KBeach is hosting a Thanksgiving Community Potluck on Thanksgiving from 12:30-4pm; Solid Rock Bible Camp is having Thanksgiving Dinner from 11am-3pm on Thanksgiving Day.

Starting December 4th (next week), Kasilof Public Library (inside Tustumena School) will be changing their hours. They will be open Monday-Friday from 2-5pm.

Tustumena Shirt order update: The youth sizes arrived and have been distributed. We have received most Adult sizes this week and will sort and distribute those before Thanksgiving break. There are a few adult sizes on back order. We will distribute those when received. Thank you for your patience.

A Reminder During This Cold and Flu Season:

If your child has vomited in the last 24 hours, had 2 instances of diarrhea, fever of 100 or higher, or a frequent/persistent cough that interrupts ability to learn in the classroom, they should be kept home from school for at least 24 hours after the symptoms have ended WITHOUT MEDICATION. If your child is sick enough to be given cough, pain, or fever medication prior to school, they should not be coming to school that day, as you will likely receive a call to pick them up once it wears off, and they are likely contagious and spreading the illness to others. These are all reasons that you may receive a call from the school to pick up your child. We do not have a nurse every day, so you may receive a call from the office or their classroom teacher to pick up your child on days when we don't have a nurse. If your child isn’t feeling well, and you want to keep them home, simply call the school to excuse their absence.
