Phonics Skill : /ear/, /ey/, and /er/
Students will be learning about problem/solution and asking questions to clarify. Students will also be working on contractions and adjectives (feelings). We will continue with our informational writing. We will focus on “How To” books.
NBT1, NBT.2a, NBT. 2b, NBT.2c, NBT.3, NBT.4, , OA1, OA2, OA3, OA5, OA6, OA7, and OA8
We will continue to work on place value (counting tens and ones) . We will be working on 1 more and 1 less as well as 10 more and 10 less than a given number. We will also work on greater than and less than. We will continue to learn strategies for addition and subtraction to 20. We will do estimation and math graphs. We will solve word problems in our math journals.
We will be researching our topic (animal, thing or person) to make a “Did You Know?” bubble. We will learn about non-fiction features while doing this.

Each student is allowed 6 parent excuses per year (this is a change from years past). Parent excuses can be a hand written note or you may email the excuse to your child’s teacher and copy the excuse to: PPattendance@trussvillecityschools.com.
An ORIGINAL doctor’s excuse may be turned in from the parent by the student. Doctor’s excuses may be faxed to 205-228-3201 ONLY by the doctor’s office. We can NOT accept a faxed doctor’s excuse from a parent.
All excuses MUST be turned in within 3 days of the absence.
